Just how much has "face value" got to do in finding love or relationship? Let's be honest, to some extent it does matter. It is innate in every human to want and have something that is beautiful, something that beholds one's sight. But not all things and human beings are created with that certain beholding factor. But exactly how is beauty defined? You'll surely get a lot of answers to that question. Answers of varying opinions but can be summed up to this saying that Beauty Is In The Eyes Of The Beholder. Let's be thankful that our eyes were made with the law of relativity. Or is it because of the heart? For had it not been for such and if Venus was the standard of beauty, then this world would be filled with people and things falling way below standard.

And last night I saw a beauty. I've seen her before but never have I been aware of just how a looker my girlfriend is until last night.
Last night, Kulit attended their company Christmas party at the oldest hotel here in Manila. That occasion was a bit of a pressure for her as she had to wear a dress and dance in front of people most of which she hardly know! But I admire how a sport she was throughout the entire ordeal - from choosing the dress, her accessories, learning the dance, walking and dancing in heels to being totally wonderful that night.

I just can't avoid gazing at her while the song Wonderful Tonight was playing in my head. I would forget for a time that we were with her officemates and bosses and I would just get lost of being in a daze. A lot of people noticed how good Kulit looked. They too did not realize that she can look like that at all - in a sexy brown dress. She was greeted with "You're beautiful" or "Hey, no effort at all to look good tonight" while the other people who don't know her would just gaze as she walked by.

What confirmed all these stories of amazement was when a guy approached our table. And I thought he was going to take a picture of me! But when he said, "Can I take a picture of Cindy Kurleto?", then it crossed my mind that it was my girl who he was interested in. He did not only take a picture of her alone but a picture of them both which I took. Later did I know that it was the guy who she was teased with in the office.

It was a weird feeling looking at the two of them being teased by their officemates. Weird in a sense that I was helpless to save my girlfriend from the teasing and at the same time being taken aback that Kulit was noticed by her ex-admirer. It was all good, I would say.

More than the beauty that the people became aware of that night, Kulit is a person with a soul of depth. She has been through many things in her life. Things and events that made her a care for her family more and grateful for the things that she possesses. As she remains strong amidst the adversities in her life, she takes care of her soul through her passion for things that bring a smile to her face, things that take her to momentary bliss. She strives to be better and maybe that's what makes her a beauty.

That night ended with Kulit and I in bed, my arms wrapped around her…
